So, finally preparing for the next conferences, I made some videos demonstrating the current super status of QGIS on android. here you go:

In this video I use all currently available features of QGIS on android. Part of the video is accelerated.

In this video I use all available location based tools (GPS, Compass) for QGIS on android. the video is accelerated 2x.

This video shows the full install procedure to get QGIS running on android. the video is partly accellerated. The original is 9 min long

QGIS supports now an all new touch maptool that allows panning, pinch zooming, double tap zoomWithCenter and twofinger tap zoomOut

Hi,
i test qgis with new Ice Cream Sandwich Android System (4.03) on my Transformer: no problem for installation (Qgis, Ministro…) but qgis stop running on first screen (QGIS necessitas)…
May be there is compatibility problems with Android 4…

Which version do u use? Try the nightly. And install alogcat so you can see what goes wrong. If it is a problem with qtlocation then nightly solves it…

Jef · 2012-02-16 at 11:53

I used already the qgis-nightly-v7a.apk… but i’ll try algcat to have more informations
Thanks

Oh sorry my fault I forgot to delete the v7a version, it is old.
Just get the normal one or use the installer

Jef · 2012-02-16 at 12:12

OK… no problem, i’ll try the normal version.
Thank u

Marco, this is so awesome! It installs and works great on ICS–except I can’t seem to set up my PostGIS connection. The screen opens up fine and accepts input but the connection never shows up in the dropdown list and when I try a New connection, it prompts me to overwrite the existing connection when I save it. Any suggestions?

    marco · 2012-02-19 at 12:21

Which version? Can you try nightly-armeabi-only please?

Marco,
I added some .shp files to my phone and I want to visualize them using QGIS. If I want to open files (or a project) I only get to look in
– Computer
– files
If I browse my phones external memory, I can’t find these folders. So I can’t display my files using QGIS. What I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance and thumbs up for QGIS port to Android!
