{"id":18134,"date":"2026-02-12T02:16:20","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T01:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.opengis.ch\/?p=18134"},"modified":"2026-02-12T02:16:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T01:16:28","slug":"qfield-search-and-routing-plugins-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.opengis.ch\/fr\/2026\/02\/12\/qfield-search-and-routing-plugins-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"QField search and routing plugins updates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Throughout the first month of 2026, our ninjas added a nifty set of improvements to three useful plugins that we love: the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/opengisch\/qfield-geomapfish-locator\/\">GeoMapFish Search<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/opengisch\/qfield-nominatim-locator\/\">OpenStreetMap Nominatim Search<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/opengisch\/qfield-osrm\/\">OSRM Routing<\/a> plugins. These plugins all provide genuinely useful functionalities as well as being great showcases of how easy it is to integrate QField with online REST endpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All three plugins have been updated to ship with useful endpoint presets out of the box, and users also have the option to configure their own custom endpoints for more flexibility<strong>.<\/strong> To configure endpoints, open QField&rsquo;s settings panel, navigate to the plugin manager, and click the settings button next to the desired plugin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"458\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top.png?resize=750%2C458&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top.png?resize=1024%2C625&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top.png?resize=300%2C183&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top.png?resize=768%2C469&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/top.png?w=1279&amp;ssl=1 1279w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Running a public endpoint using one of these services? If you think users would benefit from having your endpoint included in the preset lists, please open a request on the relevant GitHub repositories linked above.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are these for exactly?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For those not familiar with these plugins, let\u2019s take a minute to review their functionalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GeoMapFish Search<\/strong> and <strong>OpenStreetMap Nominatim Search<\/strong> plugins offer the ability to integrate online geocoding and spatial feature searches into QField\u2019s top search bar. When activated, these plugins appear in the search bar alongside core search components, with helpful tips on how to trigger searches via these open source services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OpenStreetMap Nominatim Search plugin has a worldwide coverage and exposes the wealth of OpenStreetMap data through simple geocoded searches such as \u201cpubs in London\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GeoMapFish Search plugin has several presets covering localities in Swizterland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OSRM Routing plugin initially allowed users to retrieve car routes by long-tapping on the map to set a start point, end point, and optional waypoints.
