These formats reduce the need to download entire datasets, facilitating quicker and more focused data analysis and visualization. For those interested in the specifics of these advancements, our recent <a href=\"https:\/\/download.opengis.ch\/Cloud_Optimized_Geospatial_Formats-Report.pdf\">Cloud Optimized Geospatial Formats &#8211; Status Report<\/a>, offers an introduction into the topic, recommendations for usage and an overview of promising formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within this project, we also released a sample of various tiles downloaded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisstopo.admin.ch\/de\/hoehenmodell-swisssurface3d\">swissSURFACE3D<\/a> as a single cloud optimized point cloud file and made it accessible also via a <a href=\"https:\/\/copc-swisssurface3d.sos-ch-dk-2.exo.io\/copc-poc\/index.html\">potree powered web viewer<\/a> that demonstrates how one single file can be used for visualization in the web and making accessible for applications like QGIS and QField via the direct access URL .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image.jpg?resize=750%2C340&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-scaled.jpg?resize=1024%2C464&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-scaled.jpg?resize=300%2C136&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-scaled.jpg?resize=768%2C348&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-scaled.jpg?resize=1536%2C696&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-scaled.jpg?resize=2048%2C928&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.opengis.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-scaled.jpg?w=2250&amp;ssl=1 2250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to thank <a href=\"https:\/\/geostandards.ch\/\">GeoStandards.ch<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kgk-cgc.ch\/koordination\/sgs\">SGS<\/a> to allow us working on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&rsquo;re keen to hear from you as well.
