{"id":204,"date":"2011-05-19T18:26:04","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T16:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.opengis.ch\/?p=204"},"modified":"2020-04-29T16:07:59","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T14:07:59","slug":"qgis-globe-runs-on-a-geowall-using-ubuntu-natty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.opengis.ch\/de\/2011\/05\/19\/qgis-globe-runs-on-a-geowall-using-ubuntu-natty\/","title":{"rendered":"QGis Globe runs on a GeoWall using ubuntu natty"},"content":{"rendered":"\nAfter a day of work in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/GeoWall\">GeoWall<\/a> lab at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geo.uzh.ch\/en\/units\/giscience-giva\/\">GIScience Center<\/a> of the Zurich University, I got QGis Globe to work in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quad_buffering\">QuadBuffer stereo<\/a> mode with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polarized_3D_glasses\">polarization glasses<\/a>.<!--more--><br \/>\nThe hardware used is a Dell Precision 390 workstation with a NVIDIA Quadro\u00ae FX 3500 Graphic card and two projectors mounted on a special rack with polarizing lenses.<br \/>\nThe software on the software side, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opengis.ch\/2011\/05\/13\/qgis-globe-runs-in-trunk\/\">mutex-globe branch<\/a> was installed on an Ubuntu natty, using the classic (no effects) desktop since stereo cannot be used with the X composite extension. The graphic driver is the 270.41.06 coming from the restricted driver in Ubuntu.
